BOBCATS ON THE PROWL TO SUCCESS!
WHAT IS PROWL?
Effective schoolwide discipline (ESD) is an approach to discipline that emphasizes prevention. It focuses on teaching and rewarding student behavior that contributes to improved academic performance and social behavior.
At Beville Middle school we implement this through our P.R.O.W.L. program:
With this program, the teachers and staff of Beville Middle School instruct our students what it means to be positive and respectful, to take ownership in their actions, continue to work hard and strive to become a leader. We believe these characteristics will lead each student to success and should be followed in all aspects of school life, including:
classroom various labs cafeteria library restrooms
locker rooms hallways bus bus stop after school activities.
To encourage students to exhibit these characteristics, a reward system has been put into place.
Students receive “tags” for various accomplishments—for both behavior and academics—at the end of each grading period. (For the 4th grading period, they are given out after interims.) If students collect a certain amount of tags during each grading period, they are invited to attend a celebration. In June, the 100 students who have collected the most tags for the entire year will be invited to a day at KING'S DOMINION!!
