Our Vision

It is the vision of the school counseling department at Beville Middle School that all of our students will thrive in the belief that they can influence change by creating a pathway to an individualized post-secondary goal while developing as a global citizen that engages in their community, advanced education setting and the workforce as problem solvers with a unique multicultural perspective and a never-ending desire for learning.

Mission Statement

The mission of Beville Middle School Student Services Department is to provide a comprehensive, collaborative, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. Our Student Services Team are professional advocates who provide support to promote the highest academic achievement for all students. We will collaborate with educators, parents or guardians and the community to facilitate a dynamic support system to ensure all students are prepared to become future leaders and outstanding citizens.

Our Beliefs/Philosophy

It is our belief that all students have the ability to be successful regardless of their background. It is the goal of this counseling department to instill resiliency, self-motivation, and vision to assist students academically, socially, and form an understanding of career development.

The Beville Middle School Counselor will provide individual and group counseling, as well as large group instruction, in order to facilitate the development of skills necessary to become productive and successful citizens. Counselors will also communicate with all stakeholders, parents, and faculty to help students achieve personal and academic success.

The counseling program is constantly developing based on research, data, observations, and current community and school needs. 

Announcements from the Counselors

PWCS cares deeply about students’ emotional well-being during their time away from school.  If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an e-mail to studentsupportservices@pwcs.edu.  A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability.  This e-mail is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day.  If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:

School-wide lessons with the counselors

Beville Middle School will be utilizing a new resource, the SOS Signs of Suicide Portal, as a part of our countywide suicide prevention efforts.  You will be able to log into this free educational site for information on warning signs and risk factors for youth suicide, access resources, and learn more about the key messages the 7th-grade students will learn on a date to be determined.  You may also preview the video the 7th-grade student will watch.

Upcoming Counselor Lessons:

Removal of High School Credit-bearing Courses Taken in Middle School

Requests to have a high school credit-bearing course grade removed from a student's transcript must be submitted to the high school principal and should include the reason for the request. Requests may not be submitted prior to the completion of the course. Specific information on how to complete this request is contained in the following notice and form.

This form below must be completed by a parent/guardian to request to expunge any high school credit-bearing course taken in middle school.
